Tornado tears through Woodward killing 5

Anyone needing a place to stay is welcome at The Living Word Fellowship Church at 1310 Oklahoma Ave.

City officials are sending uninjured people to the county fairgrounds.

Woodward Tornado Preliminary Reports:

- 5 confirmed dead, 2 of them children


- 3 in the city proper
- 2 in rural parts
- 20 injuries
- Most of the town is without power

Authorities have secured the Hideaway mobile home park hit by the tornado for search and rescue. Many streets are closed or blocked in the area.

The Red Cross is asking those who want to help not to bring donations to the site in Woodward at this time. They say they are not set up to take donations.

The tornado warning was issued at 12:16 a.m.
