Although we’ve heard The Jackson Southernaires’ amazing sound for many years,  they seem to have captured something excitingly new in their latest CD which was  released two years ago. Track number five “God Is On My Side” is in heavy  rotation on Gospel radio programs, and the whole eleven-track set is drenching  with the soul and inspiration that we’ve come to expect from these gentlemen of  the Gospel. Each member of the trio – Huey Williams, Maurice Surrell, and James  Burks – has a distinct voice that blends harmoniously with precision and  perfection, but it’s lead singer Williams’ phenomenal voice that carries the  day.

When listening to the reflective/meditative songs like ’24 Hours,’ and ‘I  Need You,’ the bouncy ‘Another Day,’ or foot-stomping songs like ‘He’s Got Me,’  ‘In My Heart,’ and ‘My Father’s House,’ one can easily see why The Jackson  Southernaires remain one of the top Gospel recording groups in Mississippi, and  throughout the world.
