Whole Foods, a national natural and organic foods supermarket chain, will open its first store in Mississippi in the Highland Village Shopping Center in 2013.

The store will be approximately 30,000 square feet and represent an investment of
over $3 million. The total construction of the Jackson Whole Foods Market will
generate 200 jobs and once completed Whole Foods Market will employ
approximately 150 people

Whole Foods Company employs more than 65,000 team members at its more than 310
locations throughout the United Kingdom, Canada and 38 states in the United States

Whole Foods Market was founded in Austin, Texas and opened in 1980. It was the first
national certified organic grocer. It is the ninth largest food and drug store in the nation with a profit of more than $10 billion in fiscal year 2011

Construction is slated to begin at the end of this year.
